Search Smarter: Mindset, Structure, and Tools for Your Job Search

WHO IS HOSTING? Elaine is a Global People & Culture Leader who has spent her career helping organizations scale and individuals navigate change. Having experienced multiple layoffs firsthand, she brings both professional expertise and a personal understanding of what it really takes to run a smart, sustainable job search.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? A smarter, more strategic approach to the job search — how to structure your time, protect your mindset, and use tools like AI so you're working smarter, not just harder.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live on Tues., April 14th. The recording will be posted in Rhize by end of week.

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? If you've ever spent an entire day applying to jobs and ended up feeling exhausted, defeated, and no closer to an offer, this session is for you. People & Culture leader and fellow job seeker Elaine brings an honest, practical take from someone who is in it with you.  This is not a lecture. It’s a real conversation from someone who is in it with you.

HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? Nothing specific to prep! Come ready to engage. Bring your questions, your frustrations, and an open mind. This is a conversation, not a presentation.  The more you bring to it, the more you'll take away.

The Human Cost of Layoffs

The Human Cost of Layoffs

WHO IS HOSTING? Danielle Gervacio Graf is a seasoned career strategist, project management professional, and founder of a mentorship group dedicated to helping women excel in their careers. She specializes in helping individuals (both male and female) build their careers and navigate new opportunities through personal branding, storytelling, resume reframing, and strategic career guidance. Danielle combines her expertise in workplace dynamics with hands-on mentorship to empower professionals to showcase their value and achieve their career goals.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? Danielle is discussing the human cost of layoffs: real stories of layoff survivors, consequences of poor methods, and differences compassionate practices make.  We will talk about why the process, not your performance, shapes the outcome of a layoff.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live on Tuesday, April 28th.

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? If your layoff lacked care or transparency, this session is for you.  Poor layoff methods can affect mental health, finances, and confidence more than you are ever told.  This space is for naming what actually happened, understanding its real impact, and taking your power back.

HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? Nothing specific to prep! Come ready to share (if you feel comfortable), listen, and reflect.

Making Authenticity Your Edge: Introve/Mirra AI Office Hours

WHO IS HOSTING? Alison and Nilima, founders of Introve/Mirra AI! They met after their own layoffs and realized neither of them could explain what they were actually good at (despite years of experience). So they built Mirra, a tool that helps people figure that out.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? How to make authenticity your edge in hiring. No STAR format. No corporate buzzwords. Just how to recognize the stuff you don't give yourself credit for and talk about your work like a normal person.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live on Wed. March 25

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? Because most resume, cover letter, and interview advice makes you sound like everyone else. Same goes for cold outreach templates. We'll talk about what hiring managers actually respond to, what lands, and how to stop underselling yourself.

HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? Bring a little curiosity. That's really it. You can show up with a resume or a job posting or a story you've been trying to tell better—but you don't have to. It's office hours. Drop in, ask us things, hang out.

See you all Tuesday, March 25th on Google Meet!

Aligning Your Essential Self With Your Professional Identity

Aligning Your Essential Self With Your Professional Identity

WHO IS HOSTING? Caty Toro is a career coach and strategist with a background in recruitment. Caty found herself in a place where she needed to redefine her own career identity and did so through alignment, boundaries, and applying experience. Now she empowers others to successfully redefine themselves with confidence.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? We’re talking about the social self and the essential self, and how the social self can often overshadow the essential, especially in our careers. Together, we’ll define our essential selves: who we are outside of external titles, what we truly want, and the values that matter most to us.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live Tues., March 10.  The recording will be posted in Rhize by end of week.

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? Whether you’re employed or job seeking, professional identity often pulls us toward our social self as we try to meet external expectations. Over time, this can quietly disconnect us from our essential self, causing us to lose sight of our own wants, values, and expectations. In this session, you’ll unpack what’s shaped by outside pressure versus what truly matters—and leave with insight into how to pursue work that actually aligns with who you are.

HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? Nothing specific to prep! To get the most from the session, participate, share, and ask questions. This is a safe peer space.

WHO IS HOSTING? Ally Unger (LAC) returns to Rhize as a session host, bringing a background in both mental health and recruitment to provide thoughtful, well-rounded support for Rhize members.

WHAT ARE WE WORKING THROUGH? We’ll explore how to navigate shame around career uncertainty and stagnation. Past sessions have covered coping strategies, building resilience, and redefining success and self-worth.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live on Tues., Mar. 3 and is limited to 8 members. These sessions are not recorded or transcribed to ensure a private, supportive environment for all participants.

The "How-To" & "How-Are-You" of the Hiring Process
Feb

The "How-To" & "How-Are-You" of the Hiring Process

WHO IS HOSTING? Giovanna and Ally Unger!  Ally has a background in both recruitment and mental health.  She also has personal experience with pivoting careers and career searching in today's job market.  Ally has hosted small group sessions on burn out in Rhize and we are so happy to have her back for this!

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? As you make your way through your job search, you'll realize it's actually two parallel challenges that require equal attention. There's the strategic side: crafting your resume, writing cover letters, perfecting your pitch, and building a compelling candidate profile. But there's another piece that's often overlooked: the mental health piece. The emotional side of putting yourself out there, managing rejection (or worse, radio silence), and navigating the stress that comes with uncertainty.

This fireside chat bridges the gap between the "how-to" of job searching and the "how-are-you" of the process. We'll talk through the tactical strategies you need and the emotional resilience required to stay grounded throughout your search.

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Live on Tues 2/3. The recording will be posted in Rhize by end of week.

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? You will walk away with job search strategies, methods to maintain your personal wellbeing in this process, and answers to any questions you bring to the table.

HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? To get the most out of the session, ask questions if you have them!  With a background in both recruitment and mental health, Ally is uniquely equipped to answer questions related to both sides of the search.

See you all Tuesday, February 3rd on Google Meet!

1:1 Coffee Chat with Giovanna, Founder of Rhize
Jan

1:1 Coffee Chat with Giovanna, Founder of Rhize

Hi Rhize friends! As my schedule allows, I'll be opening weekly 1:1 coffee chats on the calendar just for you. Keep an eye out and sign up when you can. For now, you can only register for one session so I can meet as many of you as possible.

WHO IS HOSTING? Technically, Giovanna is hosting but you're in the driver's seat!

WHAT ARE WE DOING? This is a 30 min coffee chat with me. It's casual but focused and intentional.

We can talk about where you're at in your career transition, what you're navigating (practically and emotionally), how Rhize can support your goals... really anything that feels relevant to you!

HOW DOES THIS WORK? Each time slot is first come, first confirmed. Once someone registers, the spot closes.

WHY WOULD I SIGN UP AND SHOW UP? Several Rhize members have shared that one conversation with me changed how they show up for themselves (and others) in the community!

If you want clarity on how to engage, direct connection to me (hi!), space to talk through your goals, questions, or next steps, or if you just want to feel more grounded and intentional in your career, this is our space for that.

HOW TO SET YOURSELF UP FOR A GREAT CHAT: You're in charge of how this conversation goes. To make the most out of our time together I suggest coming in with:

  • 2-3 topics or questions you want to cover

  • be ready to share a quick snapshot of who you are and what you're looking toward

  • treat this like a professional coffee chat you'd take for a role or opportunity you care about

I'm sure we'll talk about feelings, challenges, and real life stuff! But preparation matters, especially when there is a time limit. Knowing what you want to talk about helps us have a great conversation!
