Managing Long-Term Job Search Burnout is a new regular series she'll lead intended to build resilience, maintain confidence, and progress meaningfully. No professionals, no homework, and no pressure; just an opportunity to learn from others to acknowledge the chronic-stress state of finding a job and become more self-aware to choose the right moves before you land your next role.
WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT? Overall, you've diligently been applying, networking, and putting your best efforts into your job search — so why does each day have so many unnamed emotions and why do you feel like little progress is being made regardless of hearing back from companies?
Join other searching professionals who are working through burnout at any level: mental, emotional, and/or physical exhaustion from prolonged or repeated stress. Some sessions will focus on helpful dialogue and others will have simple but impactful exercises to help you gain new insights to regulate emotions or try something new with nothing to lose.

WHY SHOULD I SHOW UP? You may have noticed that you don't feel like yourself, that you have different emotions or thoughts you battle one day to the next, or honestly don't even know if you are burnt out because you've been going through the motions or can manage stress well. We all process loss and change differently, and gauging where you're at can help you see that seemingly contradicting emotions or beliefs can coexist.
HOW CAN I SET MYSELF UP FOR SUCCESS? Being mindful of where you spend energy is crucial when you're burnt out, and you can get out of this series whatever you are capable of putting in. We welcome anyone just wanting to listen and be a silent observer, too, as we want to meet you where you're at and help you with the right next step. For any overachievers or high-performers, you can note any helpful changes or ways to manage/relieve burnout.
